Ena Update Patch Notes
TLDR - New Adventure mode added. Character tweaks and changes. New Assists and Enemies. New Maps. Tons of other fixes.
General
- NEW - Enemies hit and airborne will now hit other enemies.
- FIX - All vehicles can now go through the portal
- FIX - When spawning enemies in freeplay using a gamepad, your character no longer attacks.
Systems
Reworked Input System
- We got a couple of reports of some controllers not working and weird behaviors. Now uses Juju Adam's input system for Gamemaker Studio which handles way more controller inputs and systems that my old system didn't support.
Updated Highscore System
- You can check more highscores by pausing and pressing (tab / select) when in game to track more of your records.
- Changed the highscore to be horizontal bar instead of a vertical one so it's easier to read.
New Local Achievements
- You can now have achievements locally and check them in the settings -> achievements menu.
Sounds
- Updated the audio settings to use logarithmic instead to help with more precise volume control. Please adjust your audio settings for this change.
- FIX - Fixed some sounds not following the sound effect volume slider. (ex: Saladbot's sawblades).
- FIX - Fixed some enemies still playing sounds when the game is paused.
- NEW - The volume slider uses Log instead of linear for better volume control.
Camera
- The old camera had a strong connection to the player's current velocity when moving. That caused the camera to move in a very erratic way when moving really fast or left and right quickly causing a little bit of a headache. I changed the way it works now with a new dynamic system keeping the player, enemies, and projectiles in focus most of the time without moving too much.
- NEW - There is now a new option in the gameplay settings called "camera type". You can switch between 3 different camera modes to your liking
- Dynamic - Follows the player while positioning to groups of enemies.
- Fixed - Follows only the player
- Legacy - The old camera system.
Characters
General
- CHANGE - Jump now removes fast falling. You can still just press it again.
ENA - NEW!!!!!!
Pico
Small polish fixes here.
- FIX - Shooting too close to a wall no longer stops the bullet from spawning.
- CHANGE - When Pico uses the bat in the air and lands early before the attack completes, it will now cancel into the ground version.
Cassette Girl
She's fine. Just bug fixes
Darnell
He has good damage but lacks mobility like the rest of the cast. Increasing his hp to help with survivability.
- NEW - VISUAL UPDATE!!!
- BUFF - Increased hp from 3 to 4
- BUFF - Decreased the rate of losing fuel
- BUFF - Increased the fire tick dmg on enemies.
Nene
This character can stop multiple bosses from doing their thing which is very strong. Hitting the special meter to make it harder to get
- NEW - VISUAL UPDATE!!!
- NERF - Reduced amount of special meter gained naturally from 3 to 2
- NERF - Reduced amount of special meter gained from attacks from 5 to 3
Hank
In the right hands, this guy could stay invincible with little effort. Nerfing the timing on the parry but compensating by buffing all of his damage overall.
- BUFF - Increased the damage of all slash attacks
- BUFF - Increased the damage of all weapons.
- BUFF - Increased parry damage.
- BUFF - Shotgun now does significant minion armor damage.
- BUFF - Parry shot now does significant minion armor damage.
- FIX - Shooting too close to a wall no longer stops the bullet from spawning.
- FIX / NERF - No longer goes through conductbot when parrying (Parries shouldn't work on silences and grabs. This was how it was supposed to be).
- NERF - Reduced the parry window by half.
Son
Cleaned up some problems and consistencies with the chain. Also added some new interactions in co-op.
- FIX - Down air attacks should now be more consistent.
- FIX - Now has the same jump height as everyone else.
- FIX - No longer able to chain through walls. (Looking at you Nevada).
- UPDATE - Can no longer fast fall when using the chain
- UPDATE - Down air attack now floor bounces enemies when hit in the air
- NEW - Can now grab interactables made by players (ex: boombox, barrels, and moony).
Girlfriend
Tons of changes and bug fixes here. (Special thanks to LordNarkham for finding all of these bugs).
- CHANGE - You can now cancel 'Seek' with a roll, jump, attack, or special.
- CHANGE - Rush now prioritizes armored units that can be currently broken by the current highest hp
- CHANGE - Special meter now goes on cooldown AFTER the boombox is thrown.
- CHANGE - Enemies being dragged can no longer be reduced below 1 hp.
- CHANGE - Rush no longer targets enemies that are grabbed by gf.
- FIX - Boombox no longer goes through oneway platforms when thrown.
- FIX - No longer keeps grabbing enemies when in the down state.
- FIX - Boombox no longer moves erratically when thrown up or down when close to oneway platforms.
- FIX - Boombox no longer lifts randomly when hitting enemies
- FIX - Grabbing an enemy close to the wall no longer drops the grabbed target.
- FIX - The reset on Seek should now properly work and retarget an enemy.
Assists
General
NEW - 9 new assists are added to the game!
The assists are meant to be a quick helpful pickup and give players opportunities to attack bosses, but some are too strong ending the bosses without some skill. Made a couple of changes to reduce some of the assist's powers.
- NERF - Stepford, Maple, Helicopter, and Goat, now leave faster when hitting bosses.
- FIX - Gencc, now has a min timer of 4 seconds to prevent him from leaving too early.
- Tonz of other fixes too.
Enemies
General
New enemies and special enemies added to the roster :)
Castle Crasher (Orange)
- FIX - Fixed a problem where the orange bomb would cause lag when exploding near the top of nevada.
Dadbot
- FIX - Fixed a bug where the melee hitbox would linger after the animation has ended.
Bosses
General
- REWORK - Mini bosses and Rival Bosses are no longer randomly generated on death restart.
Saladbot
Made him more difficult to fight against. He didn't feel like a 'mini-boss'.
- BUFF - Increased the arm count and speed on insane mode
- BUFF - No longer using only one arm
Dr. Beesbot
Also didn't feel 'mini-boss' worthy.
- BUFF - Bees no longer disappear when his armor is broken.
Baronbot
- FIX - Fixed a bug the would cause lag when exploding near the top of nevada.
Maps
- NEW (Overworld) - Ena's world is here!
- NEW (Hideout)
- NEW - Some maps have new lights and particles (can be disabled in settings).
- FIX - (Nevada) Portals should now properly give players invincibility when entering and leaving.
